What it does
The Philips Hue Dimmer Switch is a compact, battery-powered remote that requires no electrical wiring. It attaches to a wall with adhesive or screws, clings to any magnetic surface, or travels freely as a handheld remote.
Two dedicated buttons handle dimming up and down smoothly, while all buttons can be configured in the Hue app to activate specific lighting scenes, trigger automations, or adjust different rooms and zones. Scene access adapts to the time of day, giving you the right light without manual adjustment.
A Hue Bridge is required to customise button behaviour and access the full feature set; without a Bridge, the switch can control up to 10 lights directly via Bluetooth.
The included CR2032 battery is rated for 50,000 clicks and minimum battery life is stated as 2 years. The switch is rated IP20 for indoor use and carries a 2-year warranty.
