Most smart lights are stuck to a wall or a socket. The Hue Go is not.
It runs on a built-in rechargeable battery, which means you can put it on the dinner table, take it to the garden, move it to the bedroom, and bring it back to the living room without touching a single cable. Fully charged, it runs for up to 18 hours at low brightness, or around 2.5 hours at full color output.
16 million colors, all in a palm-sized disc
The Go covers the full White and Color Ambiance range: from a warm 2000 K candlelight glow to a crisp 6500 K daylight white, and everything colorful in between. That's the same color range as the rest of the Hue lineup, packed into a portable form.
There are also built-in dynamic lighting effects you can trigger straight from the button on the back, no phone required. Candle light, Sunday Coffee, Meditation, Enchanted Forest. Useful for when you want atmosphere fast.
Works alone or with your Hue system
Out of the box, the Go connects via Bluetooth. Open the Hue app, pair it, and you're done. No bridge required.
If you already have a Hue Bridge, the Go joins your full smart home setup: remote control, automations, routines, voice control via Alexa, Google Home, or Apple HomeKit, and syncing with Spotify or your TV through the Hue Sync app.
Who is this for?
People who move between rooms a lot. People who live in rentals and can't install fixed lighting. People who want a smart accent light without running cables. People who like having something nice on the table when guests come over.
It is not a primary room light. At 530 lumen, it is an accent and mood light. Bright enough to set a scene, not bright enough to read by at full stretch.
